After less than a week, the verdict is that the Krups makes a mighty fine cup of coffee - both the "aroma" and the "classic" settings deliver a rich and flavorful cup of coffee; and the stainless steel carafe keeps it hot. An added plus is the glass lined carafe which gives you the best of both worlds - no metallic taste infusing into the coffee and all the stay-hot benefits of a stainless steel carafe. The only negative is the water-filling system - there is a small opening on top which could be a bit larger, or the entire water reservoir comes out. The latter is great for cleaning but impractical for filling. I also wish Krups had included a floating ball in the reservoir to make it easier to line up the water level with the number of cups being made. The brewing process also takes a little longer than with some other coffeemakers, but it is well worth the wait... The coffee is good, but the water reservoir is frustrating and irritating enough to me that I am considering returning the coffeemaker. It is difficult to see where to fill when pouring water into the top of the machine. If you have the machine on an island (ie, no cabinet over the counter), it might be easier to see since you don't have to pull the machine out and almost turn it sideways. It is easier to measure the water if you remove the entire reservoir from the back of the machine (see the pictures), which is a pain. I didn't think that there was a problem until I am trying to make coffee in the wee hours of the morning without turning on the big overhead kitchen light (which was possible and easy to do with the previous coffeemaker).This is my first coffeemaker with an insulated carafe. I like it because my husband gets up later. Without it, I would put his coffee in an insulated travel mug. With an insulated carafe, I...
